Well not sure what to say really apart from a huge well done to all the lads, you should be extremely proud of what you accomplished. To say we have not beaten either Hornets or Manchester all session it is some achievement to do it in one day at the national finals.
The success feels even sweeter as we played the tournament as a team, everybody really came together and showed just what this Norton team can do.
I would also like to thank all the friends / family / fans who spent all weekend at the rink supporting us. To play hockey with a real atmosphere makes the experience that much more enjoyable and you guys certainly created an atmosphere.
A huge thank you has to go to Denise as well; your hard work and commitment not just for this tournament but over all the years is much appreciated; your beers and pizza’s after the final were quality too.
Finally I would like to finish with what I thought were the top 3 moments of the weekend:
3rd – Oades’ face when he scored that penalty shot, from totally papping it to total elation – classic
2nd – The guy’s face at Asda when Stimpey asked, “Do you know how to make a sausage roll?” – Answers on a post card Rob!
1st – Everyone’s face after the final
There was another classic face just before the final but I am keeping that one for the lads – pure genius Bullet, and may have seriously given us the edge in the final.
Well done everybody – and bring on Europe, I have had a look on the website and unfortunately we are in France again, but don’t panic we are playing just south of Berloigne so happy days!
